After being runners-up for the last two years, the OC jets finally broke through to win the SCAFL premiership with a 13 point win over the Beachside Sharks on Sunday August 3. In what was yet again another classic Grand Final that was only decided in the last few minutes, the Jets and the Sharks went toe to toe for four quarters before the Jets over-ran their opponents late in the game. The last quarter was a memorable one, with the Jets jumping out of the blocks with 3 quick goals, only to have the Sharks rebound with the same. In the end it was the Jets who would take the cup, and while the relieved players celebrated, they know only too well what it is like to be on the other side of the end result. With great input from first year players RJ, Seb, Q, Taylor and Robbo, the more senior Jets players responded and together the team came out with a long awaited win.
