Jets get the job done... just
Wednesday 28th of April, 2010

The Jets had a bad day in Riverside last Sunday, putting together a couple of very average quarters as well as one absolute shocker. Fortunately the team also managed to  put in one excellent quarter - the third - and that was enough in the end to win the game.

RFC were at full strength and fired up to take it to the Jets, which they did from the start. They applied pressure which caused errors and turnovers, and if not for the Jets dominant third term RFC would have stolen it.

Seemingly in control at 3 quarter time with a 7 goal lead, Mitch Lasser kicked the first goal of final quarter to put the Jets almost 50 points up. At that point Jets captain KB Nelson had to leave early for family reasons, and exciting rookie Zack Caspary had to leave with work obligations. The remaining Jets went into cruise control and RFC sensed it, they lifted across the board and kicked a couple of quick ones. By the time the Jets players woke up and started to play the horse had bolted. Riverside dominated the quarter and kicked the next 3 for a total of 5 to 1 for the quarter. Needless to say the Jets were relieved to hear the final horn.

Still, a win is a win, and the team will need to learn from this and correct some mistakes before taking on the Sharks next Sunday.
